How Involved is God in the Details of Your Life?

God’s providence and contentment.

A few nuggets I have gleaned from my recent reading of A Call to Contentment by David Kaywood.

“God has placed you right now in this season of life with every particular circumstance-both good and bad-for a reason. In fact, hundreds of reasons. What are they? I don’t know. And dI don’t think we’re supposed to know. Charles Spurgeon says: “Remember this, had any other condition been better for you than the one in which you are, divine love would have put you there.. Although we won’t have full access to God’s plan during difficult seasons of life, it brings immeasurable comfort knowing you didn’t arrive in this difficult season on accident. Instead of fixating on the past, God wants you to obey and enjoy him in the present.”

Learn to live in the moment.

David Kaywood goes on to say “On the other hand-and this is more of my struggle- dwelling on the future robs you of contentment because it prevents you from enjoying your life in the present. It’s good to plan your days and weeks and even months…But learn to live in the moment.”

Also, in the book of Ruth, the author writes, “just so happened” that Ruth gleans in one of the fields belonging to Boaz. (Ruth 2:3. “This one seemingly accidental event led to a beautiful love story. But there are no accidents. There’s no such thing as luck, coincidence or chance. Every step you take is planned by God. even the most seemingly minuscule events are governed by him. Just because something seems small and incidental to you doesn’t mean that God isn’t working behind the scenes. This is the echo of providence -God’s mysterious hand working through everything.”

Although this video is over 5 years old, the message is still the same and relevant for today!

A short video by Pastor Brian Dainsburg. How involved is God in the details of your life.

Are we sometimes angry with God?   Have we lost a job? Been forloughed, our business temporarily shut down? Experiencing some grief? How do we respond? A short video by Pastor Brian Dainsburg sheds some light on this subject. AND how we respond is something that I have learned in the past year. Learning to be content.

Prayer for our children

As we move through life, let’s not forget the profound impact our prayers and intentions can have—not just for ourselves but for the generations to come. Our children and grandchildren hold the potential to change the world for eternity, just as those before us prayed for our paths.

Are you a grandparent?

There are approximately 30 million grandparents in the U.S. Each one is a potential influence in the lives of their grandchildren. Most Christians would agree, but so little is being done to challenge and equip them.

Legacy Coalition is here to encourage churches to minister to grandparents as they encourage and influence their grandchildren. Our desire is for grandparents to look beyond the pleasures of the retirement culture and invest in the lives of their grandchildren.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 3:3-6  English Standard Version (ESV)

In today’s rapidly changing world, it can be daunting to navigate an unknown future. However, I find immense comfort in the wisdom of these verses. They serve as a powerful reminder that when we place our trust in an all-knowing God, we are never alone in our journey.

Over the past few years, one of my guiding principles has been: “When the time is right, I the Lord will make it happen.” – Isaiah 60:22. This verse has become a source of strength, reinforcing the belief that timing is not ours to control.

Before you leave today, I encourage you to take a moment and reflect on your own legacy. What seeds of faith and hope are you planting for those who will follow?

“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ’ Numbers 6:24-26 NIV Let’s do the same!
