Faith and Vision “seeds” were planted some 20 years ago as I began a new 3rd career at Eastbrook Church as Administrative Assistant to Pastor Marc Erickson.
Being a new member of a large church, I was looking for a good way to help people get assimilated and active in the ministry.
I had a “vision” to start a website as a “tool” to help people navigate a large church but not knowing anything about websites, I enlisted a friend and fellow member, Chuck, who had already constructed a website for one of his daughter’s athletic teams. Eastbrook’s first website was born, later taken over by professionals A seed was planted!
Shortly after, because of my agricultural background I got involved with Chapin Living Waters, a Christian nonprofit helping people around the world, mostly in Africa grow food with drip irrigation. Because of my involvement with Eastbrook and the website, they asked me if I wanted to take over the website and maintain it…as webmaster, using the same FrontPage software as Eastbrook’s. My second involvement with a website. The “seed” germinated!
After resigning from Eastbrook because of my other numerous volunteer interests…
I had a vision for making a blog. The “plant” grew!
The first blog was the Northshore Finishing Well Group.
Later I made another blog Neighborhood Transformation Milwaukee.
And then: Bloom Where You Are Planted.
A blog was very easy to make and update. And people were viewing my “posts”, but not as many as I had hoped for.
Over the years I attended Northwood’s webs company webinars and workshops and learned more about blogs and websites. My interest in creating a website grew!
So again after 19 years I have been meeting with Chuck over the past 3 months and he is now helping me make a website.
My vision blossomed
My vision for a website and the Mission and Vision statement has changed over the past few month. More on this in another “post”
