A Personal Note from Charla Pereau, Founder of Foundation For His Ministry
“In 1966 we made our unforgettable trip to the then remote desert of the Baja Peninsula. There, in the dark of night, we came upon some old uninhabited adobe ruins. We heard the voicesP of little children where there were no children. God gave us a visionof a home for children, a great harvest of souls for the kingdom of God, or and a Bible institute like the one I attended as a young woman.”

We first heard about (FFHM) Foundation For His Ministry in the early 80’s while members of Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
In the early 90’s we ventured down to the Baja, Mexico mission for our first trip with 2 of our 3 children and several families from our church. Flying to San Diego, staying overnight in a motel, renting a van and starting out early in the morning for the 6 hour trip to the mission before it got dark!
From planting and grafting macadamia trees and helping in the “Nut House” (processing the nuts) to outreach in neighboring communities, helping with construction, eating with the children…it was a life changing experience. What Charla has said is that “You will never be the same.” And that was and is true for us!

At a later trip we met Frank Tichnor at the mission and while there he left for Oaxaca to scout out the area for a new mission base.
After reading about Foundation For His Ministry and their ministry in Oaxaca, years later, we felt led to go there. One Sunday at church (Eastbrook) we asked Ron and Dolores Blust and Carol Beimborn if they wanted to go with us. The rest is history.
