Tuesday morning and off to work?

Tuesday morning and off to work?

Connecting mission, vision and spiritual gifts and a leading of the Holy Spirit leads to our unique calling from the Lord.

What is your Mission?

What’s Your Vision?

God created each of us with a unique contribution to make in our world.

No other person has our same abilities, motivations, network of friends and relationships, perspectives, ideas, or experiences. When we, like misplaced puzzle pieces, fail to show up, the overall picture is diminished.”

Richard Stearns: President of World Vision U.S.
Quote from his book: The Hole in our Gospel

What is work?

Someone once said that if we are doing what we are passionate about…it’s not work!

And maybe more important: what is our passion?

Not talking about Golf, Fishing, Hunting or anything else in our lives that gives us pleasure.

Some of us may be “Refired” That’s about Passion!

That can happen after we retire from a paid job…That’s what happened to me, but that’s for another post!

Work starts soon? Sunday and Monday…any connection?

Are we finding joy and peace in our everyday work?

Is this talk about finding peace confusing?

We are called to God first and then to our secondary calling…which may be our job, business or what we do in “retirement”

A word from The Call by Os Guinness

“Calling is the truth that God calls us to himself so decisively that everything we are, everything we do, and everything we have is invested with a special devotion, dynamism, and direction lived out as a response to his summons and service” P. 29

The Lord created each of us individually with different Spiritual Gifts, Passions, Abilities, Strengths and a unique Personality with different Experiences. When we know what they are and how they work together then we can be most effective in our families, church, community and the world.  When we serve according to our SHAPE, we leave a legacy that gives glory to the LORD so when we stand before Him one day, we will hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

More on using the abilities, gifts, strengths the Lord has given us.

A few books that can help you in your job or career search

Some excerpts from:  God’s Best for My Life by Lloyd John Ogilvie  “What are we daring to attempt which could not be accomplished without His strength and intervention? So often we plan our lives around what we could do without Him on our own.  A sure sign that we are in communion with the Lord is that we are attempting what only He can do? Can you identify that in your life?”

John Henry states in his article A Conversation on Calling in the book His Kingdom Come

We are called to a vocation. Vocation is our unique call of purpose, the call to serve beyond our daily tasks. Vocation is more than discipleship. Vocation is deeper and wider than career. Vocation is our very personal response to the voice of God. Vocation is our lifework, our special gift of worship, which is the sum of all our gifts, talents, and abilities to serve God’s purpose in our generation (1 Cor.. 3:13-15; 2 Tim. 2:5, 4:8)

In Conclusion, Can we do our work as “Worship”?

NOT worshiping our work!

Your thoughts please.

How to find peace with God!
