When a Spouse Dies: Christian Hope in the Midst of Deep Loss

There is roughly a 50% chance that if you are married, you will one day face the death of your spouse. Few statistics feel as personal—or as sobering—as that one. Yet while the loss of a husband or wife is among the deepest griefs a person can experience, the Christian faith offers a hope that does not erase sorrow but gives it meaning. For believers, death is not a permanent goodbye. Scripture reminds us that it is a transition into eternal life with Christ, where God’s faithful servants are welcomed home. This truth does not cancel tears, loneliness, or confusion—but it does anchor them in something solid when everything else feels unstable.

A Journey to Buckhorn. God’s Call for Naomi

Just found a few pages of some of Naomi's writings back 50 years ago. "Please let this be my last winter in all this cold and snow", Ann (Naomi used ANN" in her writings) half prayed half sighed as she pulled up her hood and shoved on high boots and pushed open the door to check on the amount of digging needed to get her car cleared off after last nights fresh snowfall of 8 more inches. She took in short gasspy breathes of crisp, bitterly cold air and gazed up at a brilliantly blue sky. How lovely to see all the snow clinging to the trees and the shimmering clean covering on the ground. But is was cold, another -12 day the weather man said."
Jesus, the reason for the season

Jesus is the Reason For This Season

"Nineteen wide centuries have come and gone and today He is the center-piece of the human race and the leader of the column of progress. I am far within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched and all the navies that ever were built, and all of the parliaments that ever have sat, and all the kings that ever reigned put together have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life, Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus and the Intellectual. By Dr. Bill Bright "In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things , and through whom he made the universe."
